Born in St. Louis, Missouri and raised in the beautiful Ozark hills, Don is, by all accounts, a mid-westerner. His father was a rural Baptist minister and his mother nurtured high moral standards within the family home. Don has carried these same moral standards into his daily life and they are reflected in his art. Don’s subject matter varies, but he prefers painting subjects that reflect the tradition of the American west, the American cowboy and the rural way of life.
